Rainbow Cake

This is a launch of a new series of cakes that are all about the cake.  The outside is simple, but the inside is amazing!  This is a rainbow cake for my daughter's 7th birthday and the guests (eight other 7-year-old girls) told me it "was the best cake ever!"  

The inside is 6 layers of rainbow-goodness.  

The new series of cakes are going to be simple.  Not necessarily white buttercream, but less decoration.

And they are going to be tall.

Next cake:  German Chocolate.  It should be delicious.

Make-a-Wish

I feel so honored to be able to make a cake for Make-a-Wish Foundation.  A very sweet little girl is turning 3 and loves princesses.  The top tier is Sleeping Beauty in a forest and the bottom is Ariel in the ocean.  I normally wouldn't add all the characters around (it's a little distracting), but I wanted to make sure that she had the full sets to take home and play with.

Both tiers are chocolate fudge cake with cream filling and buttercream frosting.  The accents are in fondant.  The carriage is covered in fondant and has all fondant accents.

Dinosaur Cake and Cupcakes

I love these cupcakes and cake.  The cupcakes are layered with 5 colors so when you bite or cut into it, there is a rainbow inside.  They are one of those things that kids go crazy for!  The frosting is a soft, not-as-sweet swirl and topped with a toy dinosaur.

The cake is a chocolate cake with buttercream and dinosaurs that match the cupcakes.  The T-Rex is standing in a bed of buttercream grass and fenced in with chocolate sticks.  It was exactly what this 8-year-old was looking for!

Keldon's Farm Cake

This is a white butter cake with cookies and cream filling, buttercream frosting and fondant embellishments.  The cake is for a 1-year-old's birthday party and he loves his family's chickens so they decided to go with a farm theme cake.  Happy Birthday, Keldon!

Girl and Boy Bugs

These are white cupcakes with buttercream frosting and fondant bugs.  They are so cute for a children's birthday!  Most were done in pink and purple, but the birthday girl decided that we needed to do some for the boys.  I hope they were enjoyed.
